Over the past few months, Wolf-e Robotics has started taking increasingly concrete steps toward international markets and global ecosystems where technology, automation, and smart hospital infrastructure for HAI prevention are rapidly evolving. In this context, participating in the MoonShotX program has given us the opportunity to connect directly with investors, companies, organizations, and innovation hubs outside Romania. After the SelectUSA Investment Summit experience in Washington D.C., the next stage of this journey brought us to Vienna as part of the Vienna Orbit delegation.
For us, Austria meant direct access to one of Europe’s most mature business and innovation ecosystems — a place where automation, smart infrastructure, healthtech, and indoor air quality technologies are becoming increasingly relevant in the development of future cities and buildings.
Austria is also one of Romania’s most important economic partners and one of the strongest industrial and innovation hubs in Central and Eastern Europe. With Austrian investments exceeding EUR 12 billion in the Romanian economy, more than 1,500 Austrian companies active locally, and billions of euros in annual trade exchanges, the economic relationship between the two countries plays a strategic role in the development of infrastructure, technology, and business ecosystems across the region.
At the same time, the relationship is becoming increasingly bidirectional. More and more Romanian companies are expanding toward Austria and the DACH region, as Austria accelerates investments in Industry 4.0, automation, and healthcare technologies. Official estimates show that around 200 Romanian companies already have operations or subsidiaries registered on the Austrian market.
Pitching Wolf-e Robotics in Vienna — Smart Infrastructure for HAI prevention
One of the key moments of the delegation was the main event hosted at the Raiffeisen Bank International headquarters in Vienna, where participating companies had the opportunity to present their vision in front of investors, partners, and representatives of the international business ecosystem.
On the pitch stage, we talked about the direction in which we are building Wolf-e Robotics: intelligent solutions for safer medical environments, UV-C technologies, and autonomous systems designed for hospitals and critical environments. Solutions focused on healthcare-associated infection prevention (HAI prevention).
Beyond technology and automation, one of the central themes of the discussions was the growing pressure on healthcare infrastructure and the need for solutions capable of reducing operational risks and the impact of healthcare-associated infections ((HAIs).
The Hidden Cost of Healthcare-Associated Infections in Hospitals (HAIs)
Healthcare-associated infections continue to represent a major challenge for modern healthcare systems. Across Europe, more than 4.3 million patients are affected annually by healthcare-associated infections, generating approximately 25 million additional hospitalization days and estimated costs between EUR 13 and 24 billion every year.
At the same time, specialists estimate that up to 50% of these infections could be prevented through more efficient infection control, disinfection, and operational monitoring measures. This is one of the reasons why hospitals are increasingly investing in automation, UV-C technologies, indoor air quality monitoring, and smart infrastructure for prevention and patient safety.
Meetings, Ecosystems, and Meaningful Conversations
The delegation program included meetings with the innovation teams of Raiffeisen Bank International, sessions dedicated to entering the Austrian and DACH markets, as well as legal and strategic discussions organized together with DLA Piper regarding internationalization and cross-border development.
At the same time, the atmosphere in Vienna offered exactly what defines one of Europe’s strongest innovation hubs: a mix of business, technology, modern infrastructure, and openness toward international collaboration. Vienna has a special energy for companies in scaling mode. It is a city where innovation and infrastructure work together naturally, and this can be felt in the way local ecosystems support technology and entrepreneurship.
These challenges also explain why international organizations, innovation ecosystems, and global institutions are paying increasing attention to technologies related to automation, healthcare, and smart infrastructure.

Wolf-e Robotics & MoonShotX Visit UNIDO
One of the moments that stayed with us the most was the visit to UNIDO — the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. For us, it was fascinating to step into a place where ideas and initiatives are shaped that can influence the development of industries, infrastructure, and even entire regions.
The discussions focused on industrial modernization, sustainability, technology, and how innovative solutions can become part of large-scale projects with real-world impact.
At the same time, the experience confirmed once again that the directions we are following – automation, UV-C technologies, indoor air quality, and healthcare-associated infection prevention – are becoming increasingly relevant in global conversations about the future of infrastructure and healthcare.

Reception at the Romanian Embassy in Austria
One of the important moments of the MoonShotX Vienna Orbit delegation was the meeting organized at the Romanian Embassy in Austria, in a context dedicated to dialogue between Romanian companies and the Austrian economic and technological ecosystem.
For participating companies, it was an opportunity to discuss internationalization, cross-border collaborations, and how technology developed in Romania is becoming increasingly present in European conversations about innovation, automation, and smart infrastructure.
For Wolf-e Robotics, these kinds of meetings have a value that goes beyond business. They confirm that locally developed technology can become part of relevant international ecosystems and can create real connections between companies, investors, and organizations interested in the future of smart infrastructure and European healthtech.
Austria represented another important step for us in this direction, and the conversations started here are only the beginning.
In experiences like these, you realize that beyond technology, pitches, and ecosystems, everything actually starts with people. With spontaneous conversations between founders, with the energy of cities that support innovation, and with the feeling that ideas built through hard work in one corner of Europe can become relevant globally.

Beyond Business: The Energy of Vienna
The days spent in Vienna showed us how much the energy of an ecosystem built around technology, collaboration, and new ideas truly matters. ViennaUP brings together people from all over the world – founders, investors, startups, and companies building the future in very different industries, but sharing the same desire to create and move forward.
We also had the opportunity to visit the Expat Center of the Vienna Business Agency and the international companies hub in Vienna, a place that clearly reflects how open the city is toward people, ideas, and initiatives coming from outside Austria. You can feel that Vienna invests heavily not only in infrastructure, but also in communities and human connections.
Another special moment was the reception hosted at Vienna City Hall, in a very warm and international atmosphere. It was one of those evenings where, beyond business and pitches, you realize how valuable spontaneous conversations, the people you meet, and the different perspectives you discover can be.
For us, the entire experience brought a lot of positive energy, inspiration, and confirmation that technology built in Romania can have a place in increasingly relevant international conversations.

A New Step for Wolf-e Robotics. HAI Prevention.
Perhaps one of the most valuable things about these kinds of delegations is that we return home with far more than contacts or meetings. We come back with new perspectives, positive energy, and the feeling that we are part of a generation of Romanian companies building technology with international relevance.
Austria was more than just an international delegation for us. It was an experience that gave us access to important ecosystems, valuable people, and conversations about the future of smart infrastructure and healthcare. We return with new ideas, important connections, and the belief that technology built in Romania can play a real role in the global transformations ahead.
We believe that HAI prevention, automation, and smart hospital infrastructure will become some of the most important priorities for modern healthcare systems over the next decade.
