At OncoVet, a veterinary oncology clinic, cleanliness (through the application of hygiene and disinfection standards) becomes a priority. The quality of medical care at the level of excellence would not be possible without emphasis on these aspects related to cleanliness, which are not limited to cleaning procedures of the clinic’s interior spaces, consultation tables, and other surfaces, devices, and instruments used.
A very important aspect – which often may not be realized at the moment by those who enter a medical or veterinary clinic (human or pet) – is the disinfection/ purification of the air in the interior spaces. It is necessary to understand that correct and as extensive disinfection of an indoor space refers to both surfaces and the air in that space. The aim is thus to create a microclimate free of viruses, fungi, and bacteria, to minimize the spread of microbes – to obtain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for patients, family members, and the medical team consisting of doctors and assistants.
There are various methods to achieve this, but Oncovet has chosen the UVC light disinfection method. For this purpose, modern systems developed and produced in Romania by WOLF-e Robotics are used. “AER” is one of these systems currently used, which allows for permanent air purification and disinfection in the presence of people and pets.
It is a range designed in 3 variants (with high-power tubes) to be versatile according to the size and volume of air in the rooms, with a focus on an excellent ratio: “quality – safety in use – price”.
This device destroys microorganisms in the air using specifically the 253.7nm wavelength, representing a type of professional disinfection appliance. The aforementioned wavelength has been scientifically proven to cause photochemical damage to the DNA and RNA of viruses and bacteria. The biological damage inactivates the cell and prevents reproduction, and thus the ability to infect. Tests carried out in environmental laboratories using the Omelianski Method, on scientific bases, certify efficiency and safety in use.
The hygiene rigor in the above-mentioned veterinary hospital is part of the daily routine, out of care and respect for patients, their owners, and the team of doctors and assistants.
