We want healthy buildings in Romania! That was the premise behind the Advanced Professional Training Course for Energy Auditors Certification, held in December 2021.
As it is well known, a successful professional training course that brings value to participants combines theoretical and practical aspects. In this regard, AIIR and OAER organized online training courses to certify building energy auditors (levels I and II) and to provide continuing education for energy auditors. The approach was modern and comprehensive, including private businesses in Romania, such as WOLF-e ROBOTICS, a Romanian manufacturer of devices for disinfecting, purifying, and sterilizing air and surfaces.
Online training course for professionals to be certified as energy auditors for buildings.
With different experience, applied directly in the market, WOLF-e ROBOTICS had the honor of presenting a course module alongside prestigious lecturers from the Technical University of Construction Bucharest – UTCB and from the professional environment within the Professional Training Course for Designers and Energy Auditors – Ventilation as an Obligation for New and Renovated Buildings, organized by the Order of Auditors and the Association of Installation Engineers in Romania – AIIR.
The module addressed the supplementation of ventilation with the help of UV-C light, implementation methods, automation, and practical aspects for proper sizing. By teaching and presenting information from the course specially prepared for our audience, WOLF-e ROBOTICS remains dedicated to the mission of innovating for the improvement of the health of our natural habitat – the built environment!
The practical aspect for healthy buildings presented by the Romanian manufacturer WOLF-e ROBOTICS.
Stefan Toma, CEO and Founder of WOLF-e ROBOTICS provided useful information for understanding the concepts used in manufacturing products that ensure air disinfection and purification, the technology used, presented products applied in case studies, and referred to the market trend in Romania on this topic of interest to participants.

About Ultraviolet (UV) Light
Starting with the basic information, UV light was explained to be invisible and having a higher energy than visible light, located on the electromagnetic spectrum between visible light and X-rays. It was then classified into three wavelength intervals, each with different applications:
UV-A 315 – 400 nm – for insect traps, counterfeit detection, ink and paint drying
UV-B 280 – 315 nm – for tanning, medical therapy
UV-C Disinfection 100 – 280 nm (germicidal interval between 250-280 nm). UV-C light, also known as “Germicidal Energy,” has the ability to destroy germs.
The historical perspective of UVC light.
The historical background was specifically offered to demonstrate how safe this strategy is to use. The germicidal properties of UV-C radiation were first demonstrated in 1877. In 1903, physicist Niels Finsen won the Nobel Prize in Medicine for his research, which included the use of UV light in treating various diseases, including smallpox and lupus. In the 1930s and 1940s, researchers experimented with UV-C light to control the spread of airborne contagious diseases. In 1936, Hart successfully used UV-C light to disinfect the air in an operating room at Duke University Hospital and demonstrated a reduction in surgical infections. An important study during the measles epidemic of 1941-1942 showed a significant reduction in the number of infections among students in Philadelphia in classes where air disinfection equipment was installed compared to classes in the control group. In the 1950s, Riley and O’Grady successfully used UV-C light to eliminate viable TB bacilli from the air exhausted from a hospital ward. With the appearance of Covid-19, the technology received a boost and implementations were seen both for air and surface disinfection on a global scale.
UV-C is well-known and well-understood.
UV-C has a long history and a record of efficient disinfection. The scientific basis of UV-C germicidal efficacy is well-understood.
UV-C helps to reduce the spread of the pandemic.
There is evidence for the effectiveness of UV-C against SARS-CoV-2. UV-C helps to mitigate the impact of the current pandemic in several ways. UV-C reduces the risk of transmission of all airborne diseases.
UV-C is effective.
Continuous UV-C disinfection systems for air can inhibit the airborne transmission pathway of SARS-CoV-2 and represent a cost-effective technology complementary to mechanical ventilation. UV-C surface disinfection systems are an effective and environmentally friendly method for helping to reduce infection rates.
UV-C is safe.
The safe use of UV-C is permitted by existing industry legislation, standards, and guidelines.
About products that can be used.
Supplementing building ventilation systems with UV-C light is highly practical, especially when considering the reduction in maintenance costs. By using products and automating processes, significant medium- and long-term savings can be achieved.
We are talking about air and surface disinfection systems and the integrated platform that ensures 100% traceability and automatic operation. See the products here! But the most important aspect is that the Romanian manufacturer (located in Ploiești) can customize any UV-C air and surface disinfection system.
About Pilot Studies – Air and Surface Disinfection UVC Systems
Be part of the change! In order to educate the market and implement Best Practices in the field of air and surface disinfection, throughout 2022 we will implement the WOLF-e ROBOTICS Pilot program in various companies and public institutions (with a focus on hospitals, universities, schools, kindergartens, ministries and municipalities). All equipment, training and testing are provided free of charge by WOLF-e ROBOTICS.
These Pilot Studies are part of our company’s Communication Policy, with the objective of democratizing air and surface disinfection.
Excellence. Good Practices. Devotion. Passion for technology and innovation. All for our health, for everyone. Consistency and Responsibility. These are just a few of the values of WOLF-e ROBOTICS, put into practice every day.————————————————————————————————————
We are Wolf-e Robotics, and every day we work to support our mission of disinfecting the air and surfaces in the places where we work, learn, and spend our time. Through disinfection with intelligent UVC light equipment and mobile robots, we provide the most efficient and environmentally friendly method of inactivating microorganisms on surfaces and in the air. With applicability in the medical, commercial, transportation, education, and corporate sectors.
